Our experience with Mercedes-Benz restorations ranges wide.
From the 300 SL, 190 SL and W113 Pagoda series, through to the W108, W11 and W112 coupes and cabriolets. And whether we find your car for you or you bring it to us, each Hemmels creation is restored to the same strict specifications of the Neugeboren Process.

DISASSEMBLY
Our expert team carefully disassemble the original car, tagging and storing key components and assessing the work required to deliver a world class restoration.

BACK TO METAL
A non-chemical process strips the shell and removes corrosion before metal work begins. All decayed panels are repaired or replaced with genuine Mercedes-Benz parts.

ENGINE REBUILD
The engine is entirely disassembled and undergoes a complete nut and bolt rebuild to pristine condition, using parts supplied directly by Mercedes-Benz.

METAL WORK
Every single panel is repaired and replaced as necessary until the final product looks ready to be presented at the most prestigious showroom.

PAINT PROCESS
Our proven paint process delivers a perfect finish. Base coats, clears and primers are cohesive to ensure protection and preservation for decades to come.

ASSEMBLY
The engine and underlying mechanicals are re-assembled in the Hemmels finishing facility. It’s a place with a reputation for treating cars with surgical precision.

INTERIOR
Custom leather work and the complete interior is diligently hand made, hand fitted and hand stitched by specialists in our dedicated Trim Shop.

ROAD TESTING
Before your car is delivered, it undergoes a comprehensive testing program driving 500 test miles before it can be given the green light by the Quality team. Then, the keys are yours.

Our unique process can take up to 12 months.
In the original German, neugeboren means newborn. At Hemmels, the word signifies the rebirth of our classic cars. Built like new.Â
Yes. We carefully source our donor cars to ensure authentic provenance and that all critical parts are present.
Yes. As long as it passes our meticulous full appraisal.
Most of our ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles have matching numbers. Occasionally, we acquire cars where the numbers don’t match. Although they undergo a full, warrantied engine rebuild, non-matching numbers will always be reflected in the price.
Yes. We collaborate with a number of international agencies to allow door-to-door service. Throughout the process, we advise on all of the applicable duty and taxes.
Yes. All of our newly built vehicles come with a 2 year warranty. Our EVs come with a component specific three-year warranty.
Yes. Our powertrains are specifically designed for Hemmels and the W113 (Pagoda SL). They have been designed and certified to R100 and UN38.3 safety regulations.
Absolutely. As an optional added service, you can choose a non-Mercedes colour that’s totally unique to you. We can arrange sprayed samples for your approval.
Although we are not credit brokers, we can advise and recommend suitable lenders for our UK clients.
We are always delighted to welcome visitors that want to experience firsthand the process behind a Hemmels produced car.
Yes. We’ll gladly welcome back any vehicle we’ve produced for servicing or additional work. For our clients overseas, we can recommend a convenient, suitable service and maintenance centre.
