Experienced Parts manager

We are actively seeking to recruit an experienced parts manager.

You will be capable of establishing an effective and efficient parts operation.

Your responsibilities will include:·
Maintaining a satisfactory parts service to our internal build teams
Ensuring the parts department achieves budget objectives
Weekly evaluation of operational costs, expenditure, labour hours sold etc.
Ensuring a stock of all necessary items to support engineering's requirements
Ensuring stock levels are in accordance with budget
Direct liaison with manufacturers and suppliers as required
Keeping all members of staff informed of departmental performance levels, progress, expectations and any other relevant information.

The ideal Parts Manager:
The successful candidate will be team-focused at all times with excellent organisational skills
Have the ability to prioritise and must have previous prestige experience
Strong IT skills - capable of advising and supporting implementation of parts system
Good communication skills

Experienced Production manager

Hemmels is actively recruiting an experienced and proven production manager.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join a highly-regarded and rapidly growing international classic car business, planning and organising production and delivery schedules for a range of classic Mercedes-Benz cars ranging in value from £175,000 - £1.5M.

Based in central Cardiff, you will be reporting to the company's technical director and board, and capable and experienced managing a fast-growing team of up to 50 engineering professionals and apprentices.

Responsibilities of the job include:
Oversee production processes and delivery schedules
Communicate with the management team on a daily basis regarding operational performance and delivery schedules.
Provide the leadership necessary to ensure that the company continually improve in performance.
Assessing project and resource requirements for each classic Mercedes-Benz
Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials with the Parts dept.
Ensuring quality control standards
Liaising with marketing and sales
Supervising the work of junior staff on our apprentice program

Qualifications and training required
Business management, mechanical, process or production engineering or materials science qualifications
Membership with a professional body such as the Institute of Operations Management or the Chartered Management Institute would be beneficial.

Classic car Mechanic (2 open positions)

A Specialist Classic Car Mechanic in a permanent position, based in our central Cardiff facility. The majority of the work will be on the SL series from Mercedes-Benz including the legendary 300SL gullwing and roadster, the 190SL and W113 Pagoda models. 

The opportunity

* Restoring and maintaining classic Mercedes-Benz models, including full engine rebuilds and performance tuning, to the highest standards

* Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
* Working efficiently and effectively on allocated tasks to exacting deadlines
* Sharing knowledge and experience and seeking advice when necessary, to ensure work is carried out to perfection - every single time.
* Occasional international travel to work with clients at their homes and support our international event calendar
