Hemmels Shifts into Overdrive with New Majority Investor

CARDIFF, WALES, UK, October 9, 2018– Hemmels Limited, a specialist classic car restoration company, has been purchased by Richard Butterfield, the chairman and founder of Principle Group,a global brand management company that generated a consolidated revenue of approximately £150M in 2017.

Hemmels restores classic Mercedes-Benz SL motorcars including the iconic 300 SL Gullwing, 300 SL Roadster, 280 SL Pagoda and 190 SL Roadster. Offering a new car buying experience, clients order a classic car in the colours of their choice along with a selection of bespoke options and preferences. Hemmels restores the cars according to the exacting standards demanded from its trademarked Neugeboren (“newborn”) Process where every car is fully dismantled and rebuilt from its bare metal beginnings.Prices range from £225K GBP ($295K USD) to over £1.7M GBP ($2.2M USD) for the more coveted models.

Hemmels to Showcase Classic Mercedes-Benz Cars at NEC

CARDIFF, WALES, UK, October 24,2018– Hemmels Limited, a specialist classic car restoration company, will be displaying two restored Mercedes-Benz 280 SL classic cars at the Lancaster Classic Car show, November 9 – 11 at the NEC, Birmingham.

The cars, worth over £600K GBP, took more than 1 year and 8,000 man hours to restore and have  several modifications including the company’s patented HEC Engine Performance Enhancement which adds 30 bhp.  

Recently Hemmels set company records for deliveries of client vehicles within a month, and also announced that growth plans have been accelerated with expansion of the production management team, new IT systems, developing bespoke production software and two new product lines to be launched later in Q4 2018.  

Demand for Hemmels restorations from both international and domestic markets is fuelling the growth as the company benefits from positive industry reviews and a reputation for its quality of craftsmanship. The value of Hemmels cars has risen, on average, 24% since 2016.

New Record for Hemmels Classic Car Deliveries

CARDIFF, WALES, UK, October 25, 2018– Hemmels Limited, a specialist Mercedes-Benz classic car restoration company, delivered four cars to clients, worth over £1M, in the first three weeks of October, setting a new record for the company.  The company expects to match the record of client deliveries in November.

Most of the cars were personally delivered to clients in the UK and overseas. One client collected the car at the Hemmels factory and safely drove it home some 200 miles away during storm Callum.  

“Every day for a year our craftsmen see and work on a motorcar, coaxing it back to perfection, ready for another 60 years of enjoyment.” said Joseph Sullivan, MD Hemmels. “By putting our heart and soul into these restorations it is bittersweet when the car leaves us, but seeing the smiles on our clients’ faces make it worthwhile.”

Classic Car Values Rise an Average of 24% in Two Years

CARDIFF, WALES, UK, October 30, 2018– Classic Car prices for selected Mercedes-Benz models have risen an average of 24% in two years according Hemmels’ market records and sales statistics.    

In 2016 the company listed its most popular model, a fully restored Mercedes-Benz 280 SL, for £165K GBP ($211K USA). The list price today is £225K ($288K), an increase of just under 37%.  

Recently Hemmels set company records for deliveries of client vehicles within a month, and also announced that growth plans have been accelerated with expansion of the production management team, new IT systems, developing bespoke production software and two new product lines to be launched later in Q4 2018.  

Demand for Hemmels restorations from both international and domestic markets is fuelling the growth as the company benefits from positive industry reviews and a reputation for its quality of craftsmanship. “Our motorcars are aimed at a specific market segment that seeks the very best restorations available.”said Iain Wood, Head of Marketing, Hemmels. “Though rising donor car prices have driven costs upwards to some extent, the main factor has been a growing demand from clients who place quality above all else.”    Hemmels restores classic Mercedes-Benz SL motorcars including the iconic 300 SL Gullwing, 300 SL Roadster, 280 SL Pagoda and 190 SL Roadster.
